Houston is the  fourth-largest city in the United States and the largest city in the state of Texas.  Founded in 1836,  2.1 million people call Houston their home according to the 2010 U.S. Census Bureau.within an area of 579 square miles (1,500 km2).

Houston became the home of the Texas Medical Center—the world’s largest concentration of healthcare and research institutions—and NASA’s Johnson Space Center, where the Mission Control Center is located. It has more than 5,000 energy related firms and considered as the Energy Capital of the world. Houston’s economy has a broad industrial base in the energy, aeronautics, and technology industries.

Houston is the seat of Harris County and the economic center of the Houston–Sugar Land–Baytown metropolitan area—the fifth-largest metropolitan area in the U.S. with a population of approximately 6.1 million. The largest county is Harris, with a population of 4,092,459.

With so much population, Houston Real Estate market is un-doubtedly one of the largest in the nation. Houston Association of Realtors(HAR.com), a top class organization and the largest individual membership trade association in Houston, as well as the largest second local association/board of REALTORS® in the United States.
